Text Box: S. Destin Sims is a partner at Rosenlund & Sims, LLC.  She is originally from a small town in south Louisiana.   She attended Louisiana State University on a LSU Alumni Scholarship and a TOPS scholarship and graduated in 2003 with a bachelors’ degree in biological science.  While at LSU, Ms. Sims was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honor Society.

After she completed her undergraduate degree, Ms. Sims attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, New York where she received a Dean’s Scholarship.  Ms. Sims graduated from law school in December 2006 with a concentration in Intellectual Property after completing a two and a half year accelerated curriculum.

 

While in law school, Ms. Sims worked as a summer associate at Keaty Patent firm in New Orleans, Louisiana.  At Keaty Patent firm she worked primarily on copyright and patent infringement lawsuits filed in federal court.  Ms. Sims also worked in the legal department at Liz Claiborne, Inc., a fashion company headquartered in New York.  While at Liz Claiborne, Ms. Sims worked on national and international copyright and trademark issues.

 

During her final summer of law school, Ms. Sims resided in Denver, Colorado and held two internships.  She worked at the National Conference of State Legislatures where she aided states with policy information regarding e-commerce, information technology, copyright and digital theft issues.  She also worked at Colorado Common Cause where she assisted with a ballot initiative campaign.  While completing these internships, Ms. Sims decided that after law school, she wished to live in Colorado.

 

After law school, Ms. Sims moved to Colorado and took the Colorado bar exam.  She then worked at Levy, Morse & Wheeler, P.C.  At Levy, Morse & Wheeler, Ms. Sims was a litigation associate who handled cases in labor and employment disputes, construction defect, personal injury, insurance bad faith, civil rights and legal malpractice filed both in state and federal courts.

 

In April, 2009 Ms. Sims opened her own law firm with Priscilla Rosenlund.  At Rosenlund & Sims, LLC, Ms. Sims practices in the areas of estate planning, probate administration, business entity creation, corporate law, and adoption.  She is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado and the United States District Court for Colorado.

 

Ms. Sims is married and lives in Denver, Colorado.  She enjoys horseback riding, skiing and college football.
